Woman arrested after attempting to carjack vehicle on Ohio Turnpike in Sandusky County Staff

CLYDE, Ohio — A woman was arrested Tuesday morning after troopers responded to a report of an armed robbery on the Ohio Turnpike.

Troopers responded to the report around 9:05 a.m. Tuesday at the Erie Island Service Plaza on I-80 westbound near milepost 100 in Sandusky County.

It was reported that a female allegedly attempted to steal a vehicle at the gas station. Upon arrival, troopers made contact with a male victim at the gas station who told them a female brandished a knife and demanded the keys to his vehicle.

When he refused, the female suspect fled into the Erie Islands building.

Troopers from the Milan Post, Bucyrus District Criminal Patrol Section, and an agent from the U.S. Border Patrol located the female suspect inside the building near the truck driver shower area.

The suspect did not immediately comply with officers’ commands to surrender and eventually was taken into custody with the use of a Taser.

The suspect, identified as 33-year-old Lisa Michelle Todaro, of Cuyahoga Falls, was allegedly in possession of a knife at the time of the arrest.

Todaro was booked into the Sandusky County Jail and charged with attempted aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony. Additional charges are expected to be filed at a later time.

There were no injuries to the victim, suspect, or arresting officers.
