Troopers investigating after 55-year-old man dies in fatal motorcycle crash on SR 18

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred shortly after midnight Sunday.
The crash occurred at 12:55 a.m. on State Route 18 near mile post 24 in Clarksville Township, Huron County.
55-year-old Raymond J. Orbas Jr., of Medina, Ohio, was driving a 2007 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic motorcycle eastbound on SR 18.
Orbas’ motorcycle failed to negotiate a right curve and traveled off the left side of the roadway, where it overturned and struck a ditch.
Orbas was transported to Fisher Titus Medical Center by Citizens Ambulance where he was pronounced deceased.
Orbas was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Huron County Sheriff’s Office, Wakeman Fire Department, Citizens Ambulance, and Interstate Towing.
