Tiffin University cancels homecoming and family weekend due to COVID-19 concerns
With growing concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic, Tiffin University has canceled its Green & Gold Weekend – Homecoming & Family Weekend, originally scheduled for September 18-20.
“Canceling an event, especially Green & Gold Weekend, was a difficult decision,” said Vickie Wilkins, Director of Alumni Relations. “Green & Gold Weekend is the tradition of welcoming back former students, families and friends to our campus for a weekend of fun, laughter and togetherness. It is our top priority to maintain the health and safety of the entire Tiffin University community, which unfortunately means asking everyone to wait a little longer to come back to campus.”
TU Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Public Affairs, Mitch Blonde, added, “Each year, we look forward to welcoming our alumni, parents and friends to campus to celebrate TU. This would have been the Class of 1970’s 50th class reunion, and we would have honored former student-athletes at the Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony. We look forward to welcoming alumni back to campus soon. In the meantime, the Office of Alumni Relations will work on opportunities to connect alumni and celebrate our alma mater.”
