Ohio reports 1,199 new coronavirus cases Staff




The Ohio Department of Health reported 1,199 new confirmed and probable cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) Wednesday.

The batch of new cases brings the state’s total number of COVID-19 cases to 96,305.

26 additional deaths of people with COVID-19 were reported Wednesday, bringing the state’s total number of deaths of 3,596.

Hospitalizations are up by 112 compared to Tuesday’s data, making for a total of 11,231 reported hospitalizations statewide.

Admissions to intensive care units are up by 16, with a total of 2,609 ICU admissions throughout Ohio.

Gov. Mike DeWine postponed his previously scheduled COVID-19 briefing Thursday so he can greet President Donald Trump as his plane lands in Ohio. Trump is scheduled to visit the Whirlpool plant in Clyde and attend a campaign fundraiser in Cleveland. While DeWine will greet Trump on the tarmac, he is not planning to attend either of the events.
