Police warn of counterfeit $20 bills circulating around area, targeting garage sales
UPPER SANDUSKY, Ohio — Area authorities are warning residents and businesses to be on the lookout for counterfeit $20 bills.
According to a social media post from the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, “someone is circulating counterfeit $20 bills.”
“They are hitting area garage sales,” the sheriff’s office said.
The post states that people having garage sales should considering buying a counterfeit bill detection pen in order to check money.
Police also encouraged people to check if the serial numbers are the same on multiple bills, indicating counterfeits.
