Ohio reports 1,320 new coronavirus cases, 38 more deaths Staff




The Ohio Department of Health on Tuesday reported 1,320 new cases of the novel coronavirus.

The state’s total number of COVID-19 cases has now reached 86,497.

Deaths of people with COVID-19 increased by 38 from Monday’s data, for a total of 3,382 deaths throughout the state.

Hospital admissions are up by 140 since Monday, making for a total of 10,425 hospitalizations in Ohio.

According to the Ohio Department of Health, intensive care unit admissions are up to 2,488, with 22 new ICU admissions being reported Tuesday.

“The number of confirmed COVID-19 patients who are currently hospitalized in Ohio shows a consistent increase. As of today, we have 1,144 individuals who are currently hospitalized compared to 1,024 on July 15th,” Gov. Mike DeWine tweeted Tuesday. “The good news is that we are starting to see a decrease in emergency department visits in recent days.”
