TIFFIN — Mayor Aaron Montz was among the local leaders to speak at a pro-law enforcement rally in Downtown Tiffin on Saturday.
The event was organized by Blue Blood Brotherhood and Patriots of Northwest Ohio and took place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the Seneca County Joint Justice Center.
Montz was joined by several community members as well as Tiffin City Councilman and Seneca County Commissioner candidate Tyler Shuff, State Rep. Bill Reineke, State Rep. Craig Riedel, and state representative candidate Gary Click.
“Our brave men and women at the Tiffin Police Department are among the very best in the state of Ohio. They undergo extensive training on an annual basis and I would gladly put the Tiffin PD up against any department around,” Montz said.
“This country needs to come together to have a civil conversation around community policing best practices to ensure bad cops are weeded out while the good officers are celebrated and respected,” Montz added. “We need more dialogue around what is truly best for our country instead of what gains us the most votes at the ballot box. We can all do better.”
Blue Blood Brotherhood collected donations at the event which will benefit local programs such as Shop with a Cop.
