Ballreich Snack Food Company announced Wednesday that to celebrate its 100-year anniversary, the company is launching three new flavors this month.

“We tuned in to popular flavor trends and looked to offer our customers more options. It inspired us to create three new, bold seasonings, packed with sweet, savory, and smoky essence,” said Jamie Twining, Vice President of Sales.

The new flavors are Honey Butter, Sweet Thai Chili, and Smoked Cheddar.

“We’re extremely excited about these new flavors and think our fans will love them as much as we do,” Twining added.

All three new flavors will be available in 1.5 oz, 2.75 oz and 9 oz bags.

Look for these new flavors at local grocer, convenience, specialty, and discount stores or purchase online at

To celebrate, Ballreich’s will place a “free” sample in each online order now through Sept. 15, 2020.

Details about the product launch will be posted on the company’s Facebook page.

Ballreich’s started in 1920 by Fred and Ethel Ballreich, who famously came up with the term “marcelled” for the name of the waves in the chips based on the popular hairstyle of the time.

Fred’s brother, Carl, and his wife Emma joined the company after working at the Chevrolet plant in Flint, Michigan.

Ballreich’s continues to manufacture Northwest Ohio’s most popular local brand of potato chips and related snacks.

Their line of potato chips and snacks are also available in parts of Indiana and Michigan.

Based in Tiffin, Ohio, the Company employs 60 team members. In April 2019 a group of local business people purchased the 100 year-old company.
