37-year-old Fostoria woman struck, killed by train
FOSTORIA, Ohio — Authorities are investigating after a woman was struck and killed by a train Monday morning.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office responded to the CSX railroad tracks at Township Road 261 south of State Route 613.
According to a report, 37-year-old Ashlie Chapin, of Fostoria, was struck by a train traveling eastbound on the tracks at 11:51 a.m. in Washington Township.
Chapin was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Washington Township Fire, Fostoria Police and Fire, and Reinhart Towing.
