TIFFIN — The Board of Trustees of the Tiffin-Seneca Heritage Festival announced Wednesday that they have made the decision to cancel the 2020 festival due to concerns over the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic.
The 42nd annual festival was originally scheduled to take place September 19-21 in Hedges-Boyer Park and Downtown Tiffin.
The board said it determined that the “challenges of holding the 2020 festival within the health guidelines” amid the novel coronavirus pandemic “give us a sense of uncertainty in our abilities to hold a festival that can be enjoyed by everybody in our community.”
“We ask that you realize that this has been the most trying issue we have had, as leaders of this festival. We want to say a heartfelt thank you to each of our volunteers who work tirelessly year after year to bring a safe, enjoyable festival to all of us,” the board wrote on the festival’s website. “We will be back next year to present an amazing celebration for our entire community.”
