Walmart tests self-checkout only location with no cashiers
A Walmart store in Arkansas will no longer use cashiers in checkout lines.
The company is testing a system where only self-checkout is offered at the Fayetteville Walmart, according to WFMY.
Self-checkout “hosts” will also be present at the front of the stores to help customers if needed. They will also check out a customer’s groceries if preferred, Fox 6 Now reported.
If the test run is a success, the new design could be expanded to stores across the country.
