Spencerville woman dies in I-75 motorcycle crash

FINDLAY, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle fatal motorcycle crash on Interstate Route 75 near milepost 160 in Findlay.

At approximately 8:21 p.m., a 2005 Honda Goldwing Motorcycle Trike, driven by 69-year-old Ronald Sheets and his passenger, 60-year-old Julie Sheets, both of Spencerville, Ohio, was traveling south on Interstate Route 75.

The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck the ditch and overturned.

Mr. and Mrs. Sheets were ejected from the vehicle.

Mr. and Mrs. Sheets were transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital by HANCO EMS.

Mr. Sheets sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash, and Mrs. Sheets was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Neither of the occupants were wearing safety helmets.

Alcohol or drug impairment are not suspected in the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by Findlay Fire, HANCO EMS, and Dick’s Towing.
