CLYDE, Ohio — Several student athletes of Clyde-Green Springs (CGS) Schools were exposed to someone who recently tested positive for COVID-19, the district’s athletic director said Tuesday.
According to Ryan Greenslade, athletic director for CGS, the student athletes were exposed during a non-school related sporting event in Sandusky, Ohio.
“Those who came into direct contact with the individual are being quarantined and restricted from weight lifting or skill sessions,” an informational release from the district states.
Because of the exposure, the district is asking students and parents to look out for the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 in the next couple weeks.
“If your child develops symptoms, please contact your primary care physician. We will continue to screen our student athletes for symptoms before entering our facilities. Strict sanitation protocols are in place and will continue to be followed throughout these trying times. If you have any further questions, please contact your child’s coach or the athletic director,” the release states.
