Ohio Walmart employees receive $12.7 million in bonuses for working during COVID-19 pandemic
Ohio Walmart workers received their third cash bonus in three months amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
“Walmart has recognized associates for their many contributions during this unprecedented time by investing nearly $1 billion in two special cash bonuses, an early quarterly bonus payout and other initiatives,” Walmart spokesperson Mark Rickel said in a release.
In total, Walmart will be giving out more than $390 million nationwide during this round of cash bonuses, and $12.7 million of that went to Walmart associates in Ohio.
Full-time hourly associates and drivers were awarded $300, part-time hourly and temporary associates received $150, and assistant managers received $400, according to the release.
Qualifying associates must be employed by Walmart as of June 5.
