TIFFIN — Mayor Aaron Montz on Monday wished a happy retirement to the president of Tiffin-based American Fine Sinter.
“Wishing a happy retirement to Tiffin American Fine Sinter President Toshihiro Nakashima today as he prepares to head back to Japan,” Montz wrote in a Facebook post along with a photo of himself and Nakashima.
“President Nakashima has been in Tiffin for roughly eight years and has been a major part of several of their expansions. AFS has doubled in size from 150 employees to now upwards of 300, and [is] currently looking for 34 additional employees to fill vacant positions at their facility,” Montz added.
American Fine Sinter was established in 2001 in Tiffin and started production in 2003.
The company manufactures parts for the automotive, railroad, industrial machinery, and hydraulics industries, and American Fine Sinter most recently has focused on valve seats and variable cam units for the automotive industry.
“Happy retirement my friend!” Montz wrote.
