A Tiffin-based artist who is known for his glass work plans to host glassblowing demonstrations at this year’s Seneca County Fair.

Ryan Poignon of The Poignon Project has been a well-known artist in the Tiffin area for years, and previously published a memoir about his life as an artist.

Poignon announced Thursday that he will be doing glassblowing demonstrations at the Seneca County Fair from July 27 to August 2.

Poignon also gave glassblowing demonstrations at the fair last year, with his display being located at the rear of the Kneeskern merchant building. More details on this year’s location will be released soon.

Last year, Poignon published a “fantastical work of fiction,” Don’t Feed the Wildlife, which documents strange and wild events following the discovery of a lock box in the ceiling of his E. Perry St. art gallery during a renovation.

Glass making is a family tradition, according to Poignon, who says his grandmother had always given homemade ornaments as a Christmas gift.

Poignon made and sold holiday ornaments last year, complete with gift boxes and authenticity cards.
