GoFundMe campaign raises thousands to support family of late Mohawk sophomore
An online fundraiser through GoFundMe has raised over $5,000 to support the family of Julia Kingseed, a Mohawk High School incoming sophomore who recently passed away as a result of an accident.
Campaign organizer Megan Lovitt says the campaign has a goal of raising $7,500.
Funds raised will be used to help the family pay for hospital and funeral expenses.
Any remaining funds will be donated to the MoyaMoya Foundation.

Kingseed, 14, of McCutchenville, passed away Sunday evening at the Russel J. Ebeid Children’s Hospital in Toledo as a result of an accident which occurred on June 11.
On August 3, 2005 in Bellevue, she was born to Kevin C. and Jennifer A. (Russell) Kingseed and seven years ago was diagnosed with MoyaMoya, a rare blood vessel disorder in which the cartoid artery in the skull becomes blocked or narrowed, but made a full recovery.
Julia was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky and just finished her freshman year at Mohawk High School where she played volleyball and was a basketball cheerleader, sang in the choir and musical, on the honor roll and member of the National Honor Society.
Julia showed Market Hogs with 4-H McCutchenville Wide Awake at the Seneca County Fair since she was eight years old and was a Future Farmers of America member.
She enjoyed camping, riding ATV’s and snowmobiling, spending time at the lake and hunting. She was so excited to get her first deer in 2019.
Julia made many friends, loved her family and family get togethers, butterflies, singing Disney songs and everything Disney. Her smile will never be forgotten, according to family.
Mohawk Local School released a statement regarding her death.
“It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that we regretfully inform our community of the passing of one of our students. Julia Kingseed, an incoming 10th grader at Mohawk High School, passed away,” the school district said in a statement posted to its Facebook page.
Mohawk hosted a gathering Monday evening to provide an opportunity for students, family, and staff to share fond memories, stories, and help with the grieving process.
The Hopewell-Loudon volleyball team also offered their condolences to Kingseed’s family and the Mohawk community in a Facebook post.
“Honoring this beautiful soul that passed away, at such a young age and very unexpected,” the Hopewell-Loudon volleyball team post states. “Julia can be described as one of the most kind people you will meet, always making other laugh and smile on and off the court.”
Julia’s Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 19, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. with limited seating at Transfiguration of the Lord (St. Pete) Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky with Rev. Conrad Sutter officiating.
Friends may visit and share stories on Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 2-8 P.M. at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, 419-447-2424.
