Now that drive-in theaters are permitted to open under Ohio’s new Stay Safe Order, Tiffin’s Field of Dreams Drive-In Theater is back and ready to provide entertainment to families.
Field of Dreams in Tiffin is one of just 24 drive-in theaters in the state of Ohio, according to owner Donna Saunders.
For the week of Tuesday, May 5 through Tuesday, May 12, the theater will be airing Trolls World Tour (PG) with Onward (PG) on its first screen, and The Invisible Man (R) and The Hunt (R) on its second screen.
Gates open at 8 p.m. and showtime is at 9 p.m., according to a post from the theater’s Facebook page.
Field of Dreams has implemented new policies for employees and customers to comply with social distancing guidelines amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Employees will wear masks, gloves, and frequently wash their hands or use sanitizer. The Ohio Department of Health’s guidelines will be followed for disinfecting frequently-touched surfaces, restrooms, and food service work surfaces, according to the Field of Dreams website.
Admission tickets will be sold online for “touchless admission.” They can be purchased here.
A wireless scanner will be used to scan tickets upon arrival. Food orders will be offered online with free delivery to vehicles to eliminate lines and limit contact with people.
As for concession-related processes/rules, only one person per vehicle will be allowed in the concession building. One-way traffic will be designated in and out of the concession building. Condiments will be provided in packets, not bulk containers. Soda will be sold in cans or bottles only, not from the soda fountain.
Restroom and concession lines will have signage for customers to stay more than 6 feet away from others in line.
Customers will be required to wear masks while walking around the drive-in and must keep 6 feet distance between others. Customers may be remove masks if sitting outside their vehicle if they remain more than 6 feet away from others.
Masks are not required of customers sitting inside their vehicle with windows up. If customers roll down their windows, masks should be worn if there is no barrier within 6 feet of others.
