Ohio State Highway Patrol investigating two-vehicle fatal crash in Sandusky County

SANDUSKY COUNTY, Ohio — The Fremont Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a traffic crash that resulted in a death.

The crash occurred Sunday morning at approximately 1:03 a.m. on U.S. 20 near County Road 302 in York Township, Sandusky County.

Margaret J. McCamick, 35, of Bridgeport, Ohio, was driving a 2010 Ford Focus eastbound in the westbound lanes of U.S. 20.


Brooke A. Ramey, 18, of Bellevue, Ohio, was driving a 2016 Nissan Versa westbound on U.S. 20.

McCamick struck Ramey’s vehicle head-on. McCamick was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Both drivers were wearing their safety belts, according to troopers.

Ramey suffered incapacitating injuries and was transported by Sandusky County EMS to Firelands Regional Medical Center.

Impairment is unknown at this time and the crash remains under investigation.


Assisting on-scene were Bellevue Fire Department, Sandusky County EMS, North Central EMS, Bellevue Police Department, Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, and Madison Motor Services.
