‘Reading Rainbow’ star LeVar Burton to read stories live on social media amid coronavirus pandemic Staff

“Reading Rainbow” star LeVar Burton announced last week that he’s been looking for a way to do a live-streamed version of “LeVar Burton Reads,” and now he says he’s figured it all out and is ready to go.

“I’ve been busting my brain for about a week now trying to figure out how to do a live-streamed version of #LeVarBurtonReads. I figured that during this difficult time I could contribute by reading aloud to folks who could use some diversion for themselves and their families,” Burton tweeted on March 24.

On Wednesday, Burton confirmed that he will begin livestreaming “LeVar Burton Reads” on Friday, April 3.

“I am thrilled to announce that this coming Friday, APRIL 3RD, I’ll be reading a selection from master storyteller, @neilhimself, Neil Gaiman. 6pm Pacific – 9 pm Eastern. #bydhttmwfi,” Burton tweeted on Wednesday.

Burton will stream Mondays for children at 12 p.m. Eastern time, Wednesday for young adults at 6 p.m., and Fridays for adults at 9 p.m.
