Two killed in head-on crash: Ohio State Highway Patrol

HARRIS TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Tuesday morning.

Troopers responded to the crash which occurred at approximately 8:13 a.m. on State Route 105 less than a mile south of Milepost 1 in Harris Township, Ottawa County.

Wendy L. Suter, 55, of Fremont, was traveling northbound on SR 105 in a 2010 Chevrolet Impala.

Sheri L. Walters, 50, of Millbury, was traveling southbound on SR 105 in a 2011 Ford Flex.

Suter traveled left of center and struck Walters head-on, troopers said.

Suter was pronounced deceased at the scene. Walters sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to St. Vincent Mercy Hospital in Toledo where she later died from the injuries.

Both Suter and Walters were wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash.

A 17-year-old female passenger in Walters’ vehicle sustained injuries was transported to St. Vincent Mercy Hospital. She was wearing her safety belt as well.

Alcohol and/or drug use are unknown at this time. The crash remains under investigation.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on-scene by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, Harris Township Fire/EMS Department, and Pat and Son’s Towing.
