A Tiffin daycare facility has announced its closure after two individuals at the facility showed symptoms related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

“This afternoon we were informed that two individuals at Kidz City have shown symptoms related to the COVID-19 virus. Please be aware that no one has been tested or diagnosed with COVID-19 at this time. However, I now feel it irresponsible to not take stronger precautions, and I encourage everyone to the same as well,” Susanne Scott, owner of Kidz City Daycare, said in a statement Friday.

The statement from Scott did not specify if the individuals who showed symptoms were employees at the facility or children in their care.

Scott said Kidz City and Kidz Zone were closed as of 6 p.m. Friday, March 20.

“You, your family, and the community are so very important to me, therefore I have decided to do what I feel is right and close Kidz City and Kidz Zone daycare until further notice,” Scott said.
