Ohio National Guard, volunteers help distribute food to Seneca County families in need
The Ohio National Guard was in Tiffin on Thursday to help distribute food to Seneca County families in need through the West Ohio Food Bank.
Several National Guard members joined local volunteers to help distribute the food as part of the West Ohio Food Bank’s monthly food distribution for Seneca County.
A post from the Seneca County Board of DD / Seneca County Opportunity Center expressed appreciation to the group and the West Ohio Food Bank for their efforts.
“A huge shout out to the West Ohio Food Bank for providing essential food for the people the Opportunity Center serves,” the post states.
The Kiwanis Manor of Tiffin also expressed their appreciation for the National Guard and the West Ohio Food Bank.
“I would like to give a huge shout out to the National Guard and the West Ohio Food Bank for dropping off a huge box of shelf stable foods for each resident, two pallets,” a post from Kiwanis Manor’s page states. “We are in great shape, but it may prevent someone from having to run out to the store. To show our appreciation, I ran out to Lisa Handshoe’s bakery, to help support a local business, and picked up six dozen cookies that she packed by twos in ziplock bags for the guard doing the packing.”
