Winter Weather Advisory in effect for much of Northern Ohio Staff





A winter weather advisory is in effect for much of Northern Ohio from Wednesday evening until Thursday morning. Here’s what you need to know.

WHAT: Mixed precipitation is expected. Total snow accumulations up to an inch and ice accumulations around two tenths of an inch, according to the National Weather Service.

WHERE: Portions of north central, northeast and northwest Ohio.

WHEN: From 6 PM this evening to 10 AM EST Thursday.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.

Precipitation is expected to begin as snow early this evening, then quickly transition to a snow, sleet and freezing rain mix late this evening. Precipitation will then transition to mainly freezing rain overnight into Thursday morning. The highest ice accumulations will be along a line from Marion to Mansfield.

Slow down and use caution while traveling.

The advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. on Thursday for the following counties:

  • Defiance
  • Henry
  • Paulding
  • Putnam
  • Van Wert

The advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday for the following counties:

  • Lucas
  • Wood
  • Ottawa
  • Sandusky
  • Erie
  • Hancock
  • Seneca
  • Huron
