Tiffin man arrested after hit skip accident sends Fostoria woman to hospital

FINDLAY, Ohio — A Tiffin man was arrested following a hit skip accident in which a Fostoria woman had to be transported to a hospital for minor injuries.

57-year-old Gordon L. Barker, of Tiffin, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence (OVI). Barker was also cited for failure to maintain an assured clear distance as well as leaving the scene of an accident, according to Findlay police records.

On Friday around 5:08 p.m., the Findlay Police Department received a report of a hit skip accident on Tiffin Avenue.

Barker hit the vehicle of 35-year-old Stephanie Lentz, of Fostoria, from behind, and then fled the scene, according to police.

Lentz was transported to the Blanchard Valley Hospital by Hancock County EMS for minor injuries as a result of the accident.

Police later found Barker and took him into custody. Barker was booked into the Hancock County Jail.
