TIFFIN — Tiffin City Schools, in partnership with Tiffin-Seneca United Way, is working to create on-campus jobs for students at its new grant-funded “Pay It Forward” campus store.
“Through our BRAG (Building Readiness After Graduation) program, we are working with the United Way to help our students succeed by creating on-campus jobs for them at Pay It Forward, our new, grant-funded campus store,” a Facebook post from Tiffin City Schools states.
The project is committed to ensuring that all students have basic needs met. School staff and community members can donate new or gently used clothing, shoes and hygiene items. Families are able to “shop” during designated days/times providing free & essential items they may need, according to a post from TCS.
A $25,000 grant was used to renovate a garage space behind the TCS administration building into the “Pay it Forward” shop space.
The project will provide Columbian students with career experience, job skills, and social skills needed to work in public entities. Families who shop “Pay It Forward” can also get referrals and information regarding other helpful community resources at the site.
The store will be open for a Shopping Day on Jan. 9 from 8-10 AM. Shoppers need to show a state-issued ID to participate.
Tiffin City Schools released the shopping hours for the month of January. You can view them below:
