PORT CLINTON, Ohio — Police have reportedly recovered the body of missing 14-year-old Harley Dilly after an hours-long search at a vacant home located near the Dilly residence.
Sources have confirmed to TiffinOhio.net News that Harley’s body has been recovered.
No further details were released. Police in Port Clinton have scheduled a press conference at noon to give an update on the case. TiffinOhio.net News will cover the press conference live on our Facebook page.
The update comes after police initially said no body was found at the home.
A source told TiffinOhio.net News that Dilly’s body was found behind a wall, possibly inside the chimney of the home.
The Ohio Attorney General canceled the Endangered Missing Child Advisory for Harley on Tuesday morning, confirming in a press release that Harley has been “recovered,” but would not elaborate on what that means.
Authorities arrived on-scene at the home, located near the intersection of Fulton St. and East 5th St. in Port Clinton, Monday evening around 7 p.m. and were still there as of early Tuesday morning.
The Port Clinton Police Department and Ohio BCI (Bureau of Criminal Investigation) were among the agencies that have responded.
Evidence was collected from the scene.
The Dilly home is located in the 500 block of East 5th Street, near Fulton Street.
More than three weeks have passed since Dilly was reported missing.
Harley was an avid user of social media, and he posted a slew of Madden gaming videos online, among others, as he sought YouTube stardom; this is raising concern, as the teenager even posted his phone number with one video.
Harley was last seen leaving for school on Friday, December 20 just before 7 a.m., according to Port Clinton Police.
Harley is described as 101 pounds, 4’9″, and was last seen wearing a maroon puffer jacket.
