Tiffin City Schools, United Way host ribbon cutting for new ‘Pay it Forward’ project

TIFFIN — Tiffin City Schools, in partnership with Tiffin-Seneca United Way, hosted the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the new “Pay it Forward” project.

The project is committed to ensuring that all students have basic needs met. School staff and community members can donate new or gently used clothing, shoes and hygiene items. Families are able to “shop” during designated days/times providing free & essential items they may need, according to a post from TCS.

A $25,000 grant was used to renovate a garage space behind the TCS administration building into the “Pay it Forward” shop space.

The project will provide Columbian students with career experience, job skills, and social skills needed to work in public entities. Families who shop “Pay It Forward” can also get referrals and information regarding other helpful community resources at the site.
