TIFFIN — At-large city councilman Tyler Shuff, a Republican, announced his candidacy for Seneca County Commissioner on Friday.
Shuff, 34, graduated from Columbian High School and attended Terra State Community College for Business Management and Marketing. He has served on Tiffin City Council since he was first elected at age 23.
In addition to currently serving as an at-large councilman for the city, Shuff works as the Property Manager/Leasing Agent for the Tiffin Community Reinvestment Group at the Historic Laird Building located in the heart of downtown. Tyler is also a small business owner who runs Shuff Consulting LLC.
Shuff previously served as Regional Director for NW Ohio at the Ohio Republican Party, Marketing Director for Premier Fitness Consultants, and as a sales consultant at Reineke Family Dealerships.
The primary election will take place in March 2020.
Current Seneca County Commissioner Shayne Thomas (R-Clinton Township), whose term expires January 2021, has announced his candidacy to succeed State Representative Bill Reineke.
Any other candidates wishing to run must file paperwork with the board of elections by December 18 to appear on the ballot.
