Theft suspects busted after vehicle pursuit in Findlay

FINDLAY, Ohio — A Lima man and woman were arrested after leading Findlay Police on a chase Saturday night.

Police responded to Kohl’s on Tiffin Avenue around 9:30 PM Saturday on a report of a theft in progress.

Responding officers located the suspect’s vehicle on Tiffin Avenue and tried to stop it, but it sped up to speeds of 60 miles per hour.

The suspect tried to lose police by driving through alleys before turning off their lights and pulling into the back yard of an address in the 500 block of G Street.

Officers then conducted a felony stop on the vehicle.

The driver, 51-year-old Ontra Brooks, was charged with petty theft and failure to comply with an officer.  The passenger, 30-year-old Kyra Bennett, was charged with petty theft, according to a release from the Findlay Police Department.

The pair was booked into the Hancock County Jail.
