FREMONT, Ohio — Sandusky County Prosecutor Tim Braun asked a woman who worked in his office to watch child porn with him, according to a new report.

Braun pleaded guilty Friday to negligent assault, a third-degree misdemeanor, and will resign from office by June 2020.

According to a new report released the same day, a witness told investigators that Braun “was going through evidence on a case the office was investigating. He motioned for me to come in and see what he was doing. He was watching child pornography on his computer. He clicked on several different videos and seemed to be watching for my reaction. I was appalled and left the office.”

Braun received no jail time as part of his sentence, and instead will serve a 60 day suspended sentence and one year probation. He was also fined $500.

Due to the Ohio Revised Code, Braun will still be required to be at his office once every 90 days until June 2020, but he will still collect his full pay, which is reportedly $140,000 annually, the Sandusky Register reported.

Both Ohio’s Attorney General Dave Yost and Sandusky County Sheriff Chris Hilton had called for Braun to resign in the run-up to Friday’s guilty plea and sentencing.

Protestors held up signs outside the courthouse Friday while Braun was inside, with messages such as “Sexual Assault Is Not OK!” and “What If It Was YOUR Daughter?”

A grand jury was canceled after an Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation inquiry into Braun, which started earlier this year.

This is a developing story.
