TIFFIN — A person has died following a one-vehicle accident at railroad tracks near Pit Stop on E. Perry St. Thursday afternoon.
Christopher R. Burks, 50, of Tiffin, was driving a 1999 Ford pickup truck westbound on East Perry Street and went through a crossing gate at the railroad crossing, Chief Fred Stevens of Tiffin Police Department said.
Burks was on his way to work, Stevens said.
Units responded to the area shortly after 2:30 P.M., where yellow police tape was put up between a home and the tracks.
Burks has died from the one-car accident, according to the Tiffin Police Department. No other injuries occurred and there was only one person involved.
The accident remains under investigation.
