Former Tiffin Ford-Lincoln employee sentenced to prison after stealing vehicle, using it as his own

A Tiffin man was sentenced to prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to felony charges related to the theft of a vehicle from the Tiffin Ford-Lincoln dealership.

21-year-old Jason S. Whiteman was sentenced to nearly 2 years in prison and must pay over $600 in fines, according to Seneca County Common Pleas Court records.

Whiteman pleaded guilty to grand theft auto, a fourth-degree felony; counterfeiting, a fourth-degree felony; and two counts of theft, both fifth-degree felonies.

Whiteman was an employee of Tiffin Ford-Lincoln when the theft took place. He admitted to stealing a 2019 Lincoln Nautilus off the lot and used a customer license plate and registration sticker to cover it up, according to court records.

Police located the vehicle parked at Whiteman’s residence, according to court records.
