Focht will remain Tiffin City Council president, and Danny Perry, who was recently appointed to council, will serve in the Fourth Ward seat.
Focht’s bid had Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz’s backing.
Grandillo was endorsed by Tiffin Firefighters Local 322.
“I am overwhelmed with gratitude for all the support I have received throughout this campaign. Thank you to everyone who stepped up to make my run worth it. It has been a pleasure walking and getting to know all of you! Our city will continue to be in good hands,” Grandillo said in a Facebook statement Tuesday evening after the preliminary results.
