No more pay-to-play fees at Tiffin City Schools Staff

TIFFIN — Families of student athletes in the Tiffin City Schools system will no longer have to fork out pay-to-participate fees beginning next school year, the board of education unanimously decided Tuesday evening.

Previously, in order for students in the district to participate in school sports, families were charged a “pay-to-participate fee.”

Alternative ideas were discussed during Tuesday evening’s board of education meeting, among them: community service days for student athletes as an alternative to pay-to-participate fees.
