TIFFIN, OH — The Tiffin community is mourning the loss of a local entrepreneur.

Jeffrey Otto Shuff, 62, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully Monday, September 9, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family after a short battle with cancer.

Jeff was born on August 8, 1957 in Tiffin to the late James C. and Patricia (Gouker) Shuff. He married Cristy Marie (Biller) in Tiffin on December 31, 2013 and she survives in Tiffin.

Other survivors include his two sons, Tyler Shuff and Benjamin Shuff both of Tiffin, two sisters, Cindy Peacock of Tiffin, Tina Shuff of Columbus and his loving close knit family.

Jeff and his business partner Larry Elchert are the owners of S & E Rentals and are the founders of the original Madison Street Tavern. Together with Jason Vassalle, they are also the owners of Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken of Tiffin.

Jeff was a proud, lifelong resident of Tiffin where he was a member of the Tiffin Columbian’s graduating class of 1975. Jeff was an honest man, a humble man, a genuine and caring man who touched the lives of so many people he met along the way.

He quietly helped those in need by offering guidance, support and compassion. He will be remembered for his kindness, his big heart, and for the love he had for his family and friends along with the truthful way he lived his life. His life was short but it was full!

Jeff spent time daily “making the rounds” through Tiffin and was described as one of those rare people whom you meet and want to see everyday. He will forever be loved and missed by his family and his community of friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jeffrey will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, September 13, 2019 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the mass.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, from 4-7 p.m., at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Burial will follow the services on Friday, at Fairmont cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jeffrey O. Shuff Memorial Fund.
