Tiffin woman kills several cows after slamming into barn; Ohio troopers suspect she was intoxicated
SANDUSKY COUNTY, OH (TiffinOhio.net News) — About a dozen cows were killed after a woman, who police suspect was intoxicated, slammed her car into a barn in Townsend Township early Saturday morning.
Marisa L. Tschanen, 41, of Tiffin was driving a gray 2016 Chevrolet Malibu west on SR 412 when her vehicle went off the right side of the road, returned to the road, went off the left side of the road, struck a barn and caught fire.
Two witnesses assisted the driver to safety. The barn became fully engulfed in flames.
Authorities confirmed that “about a dozen cows” were killed, although the exact number is unknown.
Tschanen was taken by Sandusky County EMS to ProMedica Memorial Hospital in Fremont.
Ohio troopers suspect impairment may have played a role in the crash.
