TIFFIN, OH (TiffinOhio.net News) — GOP Ohio Senate candidate Melissa Ackison, of Marysville, continued her grassroots tour of the 26th Senate district in Tiffin on Saturday.

Ackison, who is running in the Republican primary against State Rep. Bill Reineke to represent the 26th district in the Ohio Senate, stopped by GW’s Fine Food and Spirits to grab some lunch and meet with supporters before heading out to knock on doors and talk to voters in Tiffin.

The 26th district includes all or parts of Seneca, Sandusky, Morrow, Marion, Crawford, Union, and Wyandot counties.

Ackison, who is a small business owner and longtime conservative activist, refers to the 26th district as “God’s country.”

“LONG day of campaigning but a FUN day with our pals in Tiffin today! Very little sleep doesn’t Stop us and we pounded the pavement ALL day,” Ackison said in a Facebook post. “A special thank you to the owner and staff at GW’S Fine Food and Spirits for having us and we will see you in a couple weeks for another fun time!”

The GOP primary fight between Ackison and Reineke is expected to be one of “the toughest” in Ohio state legislative history.
