New park in Downtown Tiffin dedicated as National Corner, complete with splash pad, garden and more

TIFFIN, OH (TiffinOhio.net News) — A new Downtown Tiffin park complete with a splash pad, secluded garden, public restrooms, and plenty of green space adjacent to the East Green Amphitheater was dedicated on Sunday as National Corner.
Local officials and representatives from the National Machinery Foundation gave short speeches and the chamber of commerce conducted a ribbon cutting.
Following the dedication, a Sunday Funday began on the East Green at 3 p.m., with Wally and the Beavs performing at the neighboring Frost-Kalnow Amphitheater.
“A big thank you to all of our donors,” Mayor Aaron Montz said. “There’s no community of our size that has something like this. You look at the flagship communities in Ohio, like Wooster, like Findlay — their downtowns can’t compete with what we have here today thanks to Andrew Kalnow and the National Machinery Foundation.”
“We want to make Tiffin a great place for young families. This right here is what’s going to attract people to the Tiffin community and keep this community growing, and turn around the trend of small communities like Tiffin beginning a slow decline,” Montz said. “We’re on the upswing, so much is going on here, this truly is a renaissance and rebirth of Tiffin, Ohio.”
City officials say the splash pad will be open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., and then the splash pad’s fountains will be programmed to provide a colored light show from 9 p.m. until 11 p.m.
