Heidelberg professor, counselor seeks Tiffin City Board of Education seat

TIFFIN, OH (TiffinOhio.net News) — According to a press release, a local university educator and counselor has announced her intentions to run for a seat on the Tiffin City school board.
Dr. Meagan McBride, an Assistant Professor of Counseling at Heidelberg University, is seeking a seat on the Tiffin City School District Board of Education.
McBride has a background in both education and mental health, according to the release. She is a former special education teacher and current college educator who owns and operates MK Counseling & Consulting, LLC, where she counsels children and families.
McBride obtained her PhH.D. in Counseling from the University of Toledo in 2018. At Heidelberg, she teachers in the Masters Counseling program. She is a certified trauma practitioner and provides therapy for children who have experienced trauma.
“As a mother, educator, and mental health professional, I have a strong desire to help make our school system a great place to educate and nurture children. I am excited about the opportunity to work with other TCS Board members to make an already wonderful school system even better,” McBride said.
Dr. McBride serves on the Tiffin City Schools Program Committee and is a member of the Board of Directors of PatchWorks House.
McBride, or “Dr. Meagan” as she is known in the community, resides in Tiffin with her husband, Dan and her two children, Madison and Marshall, who attend Tiffin City Schools.
The election is November 5, 2019. Two seats, currently held by Dean Henry and Dr. Andrew Gase, will be on the ballot in the November election.
