Not-so-sneaky thieves at Tiffin Walmart try to return stolen goods for gift cards

TIFFIN, OH — Police were summoned to Walmart in Tiffin earlier this week after an employee reported shoplifters trying to return the items for gift cards.
According to the police report, a Walmart employee reported a man and woman trying to return goods that had been stolen from the store in exchange for gift cards Saturday evening.
Probably not the smartest idea, given that Walmart keeps track of their inventory along with the barcodes and other information attached to the goods.
Police have not yet released the names of the man and woman, as this is a developing story.
