Fremont man dies after swimming at East Harbor State Park
DANBURY TOWNSHIP, OH (TiffinOhio.net News) — A Fremont man has died after swimming at East Harbor State Park, according to police.
Sources say that police were called to East Harbor State Park on Sunday afternoon after a man was found unresponsive in the waters.
Bystanders tried performing CPR on the man before the Danbury Township Fire Department and EMS transported him to Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton.
Delmur Owens, 49, of Fremont was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The official cause of death is still pending investigation.
According to the source, the Department of Natural Resources is leading the investigation while the Danbury Police Department and Ottawa County Sheriff’s assisted on the scene.
