Police: Body pulled from river identified as Tiffin man

TIFFIN, OH — After a man was found dead and pulled from the Sandusky River on Sunday, the Tiffin Police Department has identified the man found dead.

Tiffin Police say Frederick N. Haudenshild, 53, of Tiffin was found dead in the river and pulled from it Sunday. Police had received a report of a missing person that day, with family members of Haudenshild saying they hadn’t seen him in a while.

While authorities were searching properties around the river, Haudenshild’s body was spotted in the river and was initially transported to the Tiffin Mercy Hospital morgue by the Seneca County Coroner, then to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.

The incident is still under investigation and the cause of the man’s death is still unknown according to authorities.
