More details on new department store in Tiffin: opening date, products carried, and more

TIFFIN, OH — We’ve now learned more details about the new department store that will be opening in Tiffin this summer.

Peebles, a department store that has been in Tiffin for decades, will be closing in June and converted into a new brand, Gordmans.

“Stage Stores is converting the Peebles location in Tiffin, Ohio to a Gordmans store this summer. Peebles and Gordmans are part of Stage Stores,” spokeswoman for Stage Stores, Jenny Clifton, said.

“Stage Stores has opened 38 Gordmans stores across the country this March, and is opening an additional 36 stores this summer. Tiffin is one of the summer location openings. The new Gordmans store in Tiffin is scheduled to open in late June. The converting store will close in the days leading up to the Gordmans grand openings,” Clifton added.

Stage Stores President and CEO Michael Glazer says Gordmans describes itself as an “off-price retailer,” similar to stores like T.J. Maxx and Marshall’s.
