COLUMBUS, OH — The list of Ohio doctors who can recommend medical marijuana grows each month, but it can be difficult to find one nearby or who specializes in a particular medical condition.

Getting a doctor to recommend cannabis is the first step to being able to legally buy and use medical marijuana in Ohio. Physicians have to add patients to the state registry before they can receive their patient ID cards.

Last week, the State Medical Board of Ohio, approved 35 more doctors to recommend medical marijuana, increasing the number of physicians in the program to 448.

Patients interested in obtaining medical marijuana must suffer from any of 21 conditions. A state-certified doctor can help them begin the process to enter the patient or caregiver registry, which they need before they can go to a dispensary.
