Tiffin factory sued after woman’s hair allegedly torn off her head
TIFFIN, OH — A new lawsuit has been filed by Lisa and Allen Ackerman of Fremont, OH against Dorel Home Furnishings Inc., formerly known as Ameriwood Industries, of Tiffin.
The lawsuit alleges that Ms. Lisa Ackerman’s hair was torn off her head while working at the Tiffin plant. Ms. Ackerman was allegedly using a subject laminator when the incident occurred. She had to insert additional laminating paper into a column of rollers which feeds into the laminator.
The lawsuit claims that Ackerman’s hair bun made contact with the powered rollers, which were allegedly unguarded, and her hair was pulled off the top of her head and into the machine.
The lawsuit seeks more than $25,000 in damages. Judge Michael Kelbley of the Seneca County Common Pleas Court is set to preside over the case, according to records.
