Clyde defeats Tiffin Columbian in close game, TC now 5-2
TIFFIN, OH — In what is quickly becoming known locally as the Tiffin Columbian Tornadoes football team’s “comeback season,” the Tornadoes suffered a loss in a close game Friday night.
The Clyde Fliers defeated TC with a final score of 24-21. WTTF radio said the Fliers won after a last-second field goal, which was “controversial,” according to sports broadcasters.
A Columbian coach reportedly tried to call for a timeout shortly before the field goal kick. However, game officials apparently didn’t notice the call, despite many Tornadoes fans claiming the coach was “clearly visible.”
Tiffin Columbian is now 5-2 in the league.
TC will next play Bellevue on Oct. 12 beginning at 7 pm at Bellevue High School.
