TIFFIN, OH — A public fundraiser event is being hosted at Buffalo Wild Wings in Tiffin to remember the Rainey family, as well as raise money for a good cause.

“Enjoy a night of food, family and fun as we remember the Raineys,” event organizer Kristina Egbert said.

Fire was roaring out of the Rainey home at 10331 W. Ohio 18, just east of Fostoria, last October when firefighters arrived.

Firefighters were forbidden from entering the home to battle the blaze, as damage to the house made the structure dangerous. Instead, firefighters attempted to knock down the fire from the outside.

There were five people inside, one of whom was a Bascom Fire District cadet, 19-year-old Austin Rainey. Also perishing in the blaze were Austin’s father, Jim Rainey, his mother, Jodi Depinet-Rainey, brother Cody and sister Jessica.

“Proceeds from the event will be donated to Seneca Arrows Special Olympics and the Bascom Fire Cadets. Not only do 15% of your food purchase go toward the event, but there will also be a
50/50 drawing, silent auction, and meat boards,” Egbert said.

The event will be held on October 25, 2018 beginning at 6 PM at Buffalo Wild Wings in Tiffin.

Event information can be found on Facebook by clicking here.

“We like to support various causes and do different things to help the community,” Buffalo Wild Wings Tiffin owner Mike Mastro said.
