TiffinOhio.net’s Small Business Spotlight is a new series that will regularly feature small businesses in the Tiffin area. We start off our Small Business Spotlight series with The Attic!

TIFFIN, OH – One of Tiffin’s most-popular new small businesses would be The Attic Smoke Shop & Glass Art – a counter-culture smoke/vape/novelty shop located right next to Hunan King at 257 South Washington St. in beautiful downtown Tiffin.

The Attic’s owner, Mike Kouza, invited TiffinOhio.net to take some pictures of his business and ask a few questions, as there is a lot of positive curiosity surrounding the new store.

Upon entering the store, formerly a tattoo studio, you’ll notice a lot of stuff – ranging from the eye-catching tie-die apparel, to the wall of incense sticks, to the wall of glass art, rolling papers, wraps, and more. While the store is still a work in progress, Kouza says, there are is a wide variety of products to choose from.

While shoppers are obviously free to choose whether or not to follow the “disclaimer,” The Attic’s products that are smoking-related are meant for “tobacco use only,” Kouza said. The shop sells hookahs, vaporizers and related equipment, tobacco, glass art, incense, locally- and area-made jewelry, art and music, clothing, CBD products such as oils, gag gifts and other items.

Kouza said he was aware of some of the skepticism about new smoke shops opening in Tiffin, given the history the city has had with them. In 2013, “Zig Stag,” a smoke shop that was located on E. Market St., was raided for selling synthetic drugs.

However, Kouza is extremely professional – you’ll see that from the reviews on his business’s Facebook page. He stressed that his stores in both Tiffin and Findlay, which will celebrate its 9th year of business in July, are “family owned and operated” and follow by the rules.

“The owner is very knowledgeable about what he sells. He answered all my questions and then some. The prices are very reasonable also,” Facebook user Marsha Biller said.

Kouza said his store has been attracting customers from a wide range of demographics – including college students, working professionals, seniors, and more.
