Death of Melmore woman investigated as likely OD
The death of a Melmore woman early Wednesday morning is being investigated by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office as a likely drug overdose.
The situation was reported to authorities at 1:39 AM Wednesday.
According to information from the Sheriff’s Office, CPR procedures were started on the woman before emergency personnel arrived on-scene. When emergency services arrived, Ashley Kramer, 26, of Melmore, was transported to Tiffin Mercy Hospital where she died.
The official cause of death is pending toxicology results. Deputies were not able to find any evidence of drug abuse at the location, but Kramer’s family had reportedly indicated that she has been consuming alcohol more than usual recently and has had a history of drug abuse.
Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and Sycamore Volunteer Fire & Rescue responded to the scene.
